Drum Medicine

The first sounds we hear whilst still in our mother's womb is that of a heart beat

Before we are born we are attuned to the beat, vibration and rhythm of the drum

The drum is the oldest musical instrument used by cultures right around the world

If you know the rhythm  of a heart beat then you can play a drum

Drum Circles

For us at Nature Therapy, drum circles are about having fun in a social setting. There is no need for words as communication occurs through the drumming.

Circles do not focus on performance. You do not need to have any musical skills or have played a drum before, Everyone can drum.

We can use drumming to raise energy by using  strong rhythms and beats, or to  relax through gentler more soothing vibrations.

Emotional Well Being

Drumming together is proven to lift  mood and reduce anxiety. It helps tune us back into our inner child.  Where you  experienced being in the moment and having fun with your friends.

There are no wrong notes.

The drum helps you get out of your mind by letting go of troublesome thoughts  and connecting with the rhythm of your own heart

What happens at a  Circle?

If the drumming workshop is taking place inside, the room will be set up in a circle with a drum for each person. More than welcome to bring your own drum.

You will be given help to learn some very simple beats which will get you drumming straight away.

There are no wrong beats or rhythms.

Circles are not lessons in drumming. They are about helping you tune in to yourself and other around you.

What else?

If  the weather is good we like to get outside in nature.  We run drumming circles on the beach, in the forest, sat up trees, amongst a herd of horses, walking labyrinths,  to welcome in the day and with a pack of wolves.

We use  different types of drums such as Hoop Drums, Djembes, Boomwackers, Happi Drums, Ball Drums and Water Druns.  So there is something for everyone.
