The Artful Drumming Cafe
Free legendary family days out in natureCome my little ones, we are going on a magical stroll to find the entrance to fairyland. On the first step of this mystical journey, we can hear the laughter and joy of a time many rising moons ago.
The memories this place holds tells of a time when dragons roared their fiery breath across the sky, when Kings fought in battle to save island tribes, when gentle folk slept under oak umbrellas, and when naughty fairies enchanted victims with the promise of gold. So, my little ones, go find your coat and pull on your boots, make ready for us to go explore. |
Many families today find it hard to keep children amused and entertained without spending vast amounts of money they simply do not have.
So, we at Nature Therapy CIC, took ten ancient legends associated with the Isle of Wight and created a book of stories for children. Some of the legends stretch back over hundreds of years. The legends have endured because they are just as relevant to children and families today as they were all those years ago. They tell tales of enduring love, bullying, kindness, greed, passion and vanity. The stories include dragons, fairies, ancient kings, knights and witches. Families can read the stories together and then visit each of the beautiful locations where the legend was born to breathe life into the people that once existed. The book gives clues as to where a nature cache is hidden along with ideas for fun nature based activities to do whilst in the area. Search for the fairy doors associated with each legend through which the little people pass into their magic realm. Nature Therapy CIC worked with 20 volunteer families to co-create this amazing adventure into the island's living heritage. Copies of the book are available via our on line store. |
