Pauline runs her own company called Hortictherapy so is very experienced at gardening with people with dementia. We are so delighted she has joined us and is sharing her skills.  Pauline is covering the Southampton area especially the residential and care homes.

Anne  runs her own business as a mindfulness tutor. She brings in an extra skill for our team as mindfulness is important part of caring for those with a dementia. All we have is the here and now - and that is no truer than when walking alongside a person with a dementia.

 Kitty

Kitty has been a volunteer with us for some years. She is a former nurse with a love of medicinal plants and a wealth of knowledge about caring for those with a dementia. Kitty is also a radio presenter on the award winning Vectis Radio where she helps us raise awareness of the many benefits of nature therapy for carers and for those with a dementia.

Dr Kim Brown

Nature Therapy CIC developed from the passion of Dr Kim Brown who forty years ago noticed improvements in the quality of life for patients who were able to spend time outside.

Kim is a nurse, midwife and teacher who specialised in working with vulnerable children and adults. She has always been interested in mental health and researching the impact of nature - this led her to
spending five years traveling the world for her Doctorate in Health Science and researching the many different ways nature impacts on human wellbeing through  the senses.

Time spent as an Expedition Leader Tutor has helped build a solid and safe foundation to our work in the great outdoors. Kim has also been a Senior Advisor for the Home Office, CEO of a charity, and over the years has developed numerous projects for vulnerable children and adults for which she has won national awards.  This includes a national Nurse of the Year award and more recently a national Venus award for Inspirational Professional of the Year.

Paddy Noctor

Our small not for profit is enhanced through the skills and knowledge of  volunteer director - Paddy Noctor.  Paddy has a sound history of working in the field of addictions, and was CEO of a charity for many years. Now retired,  he still sits on different Boards and mental health Tribunals. Paddy was instrumental in setting up a very successful and lasting enterprise that has provided accommodation and support for those with alcohol and substance addictions for the past 25 years.

Dave Ward

Dave is a volunteer director and our equine expert. Having been a jockey for 17 years he is now an equine assisted practitioner.

Bill Milford

Bill is a volunteer as well co-tutor on some of our courses.  He is a woodsman and expedition leader with experience of living wild and off grid.  Bill is a great source of knowledge about all things nature. He is also passionate about motorbikes.

Billy Dibbens

Billy has been instrumental as a volunteer in helping us set up our programme for people with dementia. Billy has stroke induced dementia but that has in no way deterred his enthusiasm for shaping the pop up dementia theatre.

Mark Langford

Mark is inspirational in the field of Recovery. He is passionate about helping others through their recovery journey and is a stalwart in volunteering with us to help with delivery of all our programmes and courses. Mark completed our Expedition Leaders course last year and is a great asset to Nature Therapy CIC.

Noah and Theodore

Our two resident donkeys who like to volunteer on all our programmes despite often not being invited because they love attention and live in the hope that cake might be on the menu.

Donna Flux

Donna has an amazing energy for life having faced some tough times herself. She brings her own brand of positive enthusiasm to her volunteering.

Mog the Dog and Ted

Mogs and Ted  accompany us whenever possible.  Other social and friendly dogs are welcome to come along to all our programmes but the owner is responsible for their behaviour.  Please ask about bringing a dog in advance as we might have a group member frightened of dogs or allergic to them.

Research shows that the presence of a dog helps people in a group collaborate more effectively and enhance their trust in others.

Mosi and Torak

Two of the wolves from the UK Wolf Conservation Centre that help out on our Wolf Medicine programme.
